1992
Bau-Verein zu Hamburg AG acquires the Paradieshof from the City of Hamburg. This building is the only example of a residential block that has been preserved in Hamburg from the baroque period. At this point, only an insignificant fragment of this building is still standing. Bau-Verein invests DM five million of its own funds in renovating this piece of architectural heritage, in order to preserve Hamburg´s oldest block of rented flats and celebrate the company´s centenary as a residential property company. This project demonstrates Bau-Verein´s social responsibility and commitment to Hamburg. The building has therefore become part of our logo.

1990
On 1 January 1990, the "Law on Charitable Building Development"is repealed. Bau-Verein zu Hamburg AG is taken over by the Wünsche Aktiengesellschaft. In 1991, the strategic realignment is launched. This creates the basis for a property group under the umbrella of Bau-Verein zu Hamburg AG that is active in areas other than residential property.
