1969 - 1990
Between 1969 and 1990, 1996 existing buildings are modernised step by step. In addition to substantial repair costs, more than DM 49 million is spent on modernisation work during this period.

1979
Independent finance for residential development is becoming increasingly difficult to raise because it is known that the returns obtainable in the market are not adequate. Bau-Verein therefore moves over to purchasing residential developments. An additional factor is that there is no new building land and building policy assumes that an extensive programme of building publicly financed apartments is no longer required to the extent necessary in the past.
